Is the course taught in English, Chinese, or both?

At present, our courses are delivered in Chinese with local teacher support in English. This means students with a Chinese language background can fully benefit from the structured learning pathway, while our Australian teachers help explain concepts in English where needed. The English version of the curriculum is coming soon. Our team is actively working on a bilingual adaptation of all lessons, exercises, and reports. We aim to provide a fully localized English course package, so students from all backgrounds can participate. This phased approach ensures high-quality learning today, while building toward a broader, inclusive program for the future.

What coding courses do you offer for beginners and advanced students?

we provide a structured learning pathway designed for children from complete beginners to advanced learners:

Beginner Level (Ages 6–9):
Scratch Programming – a fun, visual way for children to learn the basics of logic, problem-solving, and creativity by building interactive stories, games, and animations.
Coding & Maths Foundations – introduces computational thinking while strengthening core maths skills.

Intermediate Level (Ages 9–13):
Python Programming – children move into text-based coding, learning real-world programming concepts such as loops, variables, and functions.
Game Development with Python – apply coding skills to create projects and simple games.

Advanced Level (Ages 13–16): Coming Soon
C++ & Algorithm Foundations – for students interested in competitions and deeper computer science knowledge.
Australian Informatics Olympiad (AIO) Training – competition-focused problem-solving and advanced algorithm practice.
AI & Data Science Foundations – introduction to the mathematics of AI, including probability, statistics, and linear algebra basics.

How long does each term last, and how many classes are included?

Each term at Australia Maker Education (AME) follows the Australian school calendar and runs for 10 weeks.
Class Length: Each class is 90 minutes.

Frequency: Students attend one class per week.

Total Classes: This means each term includes 10 structured lessons.

Yearly Structure: There are 4 terms per year, giving students 40 lessons annually, plus optional holiday workshops and camps (coming soon) for those who want to extend their learning.

This structure keeps learning consistent while also allowing children to balance school, extracurricular activities, and family time.

What device does my child need to join the course?

For the best learning experience, we recommend that students use a laptop.
Beginner Courses (Scratch, Coding & Maths):
These can run on most laptops or desktops with internet access. A tablet may work for some activities, but a computer with a keyboard and mouse provides a smoother experience.

Intermediate & Advanced Courses (Python, C++, AI):
A laptop is required, as students will need to type code, install software, and work with files. Tablets are not suitable at this stage.

We’ll provide parents with clear setup instructions before the course begins, and our support team is available to help with any technical setup questions.

How do I enroll my child in the course?

Enrolling your child at Australia Maker Education (AME) is simple and straightforward:
Choose a Course: Review our course offerings (Scratch, Python, C++, AI) and select the one most suitable for your child’s age and skill level.

Submit Enrollment Form: Complete our online enrollment form with your child’s details (name, age, grade, preferred class time).

Confirm Placement: Our team will contact you to confirm your child’s placement and answer any questions.

Payment: Once confirmed, you can secure your child’s place by paying the course fee (per term or subscription option).

Get Started: We’ll send you all the details, including class schedule, teacher information, and setup instructions for the learning platform.

Tip: Spaces are limited as we keep classes small (usually 5–8 students per class), so we recommend enrolling early to guarantee your child’s spot.

What is your refund and cancellation policy?

At Australia Maker Education (AME), we aim to keep our policies fair and flexible for families while ensuring smooth operation of our small classes.
Before the Term Starts: If you cancel your child’s enrollment at least 14 days before the first class, you will receive a full refund of the course fee (minus any processing charges).

After the Term Begins: If you cancel within the first 1 weeks of the term, you are eligible for a pro-rated refund for the remaining classes.

Mid-Term Cancellations: After the second week, refunds are generally not provided, as places are reserved for each student. However, we may offer credit toward a future term in special circumstances (e.g. illness, relocation).

Missed Classes: If your child misses a class, we will do our best to arrange a make-up class or provide class materials/recordings where possible.

Our goal is to give parents confidence while keeping classes stable for all students.
